Understanding the New EU Geographical Indications for Craft

Mon, 22 September 2025, 10.00-12.00 CET

You are invited to an online webinar focused on Geographical Indications (GIs) for Craft and Industrial Products in Europe. This event is designed to help artisans, producers, and cultural organisations understand and navigate the new EU regulation (EU) 2023/2411, which will provide unified protection for craft and industrial products starting in December 2025. The discussion will analyze the concrete implications, benefits, and challenges of this new legal framework, with a special focus on the ceramics and glass sectors.

The webinar will feature speakers from key institutions, including DG GROW of the European Commission and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), who will present on EU policy and new registration procedures. They will be joined by representatives from established GIs to share practical case studies and strategies, including Porcelaine de Limoges (France), Bohemian Glass (Czech Republic), La Bisbal (Spain), and a speaker from Barcelos (Portugal), subject to confirmation. Participation is free, but registration is required to receive access to the online event.

This event is co-organized by the Pôle Européen de la Céramique, European Crafts Alliance, Association IG Porcelaine de Limoges, CERAM UNIE, and FFIGIA.
