The Malta Crafts Foundation, ECA member, will host two key discussions on the future of the craft sector as part of the designMT festival, taking place from 29 September to 4 October 2025, in Valletta, Malta.
As part of the festival’s wider program, the events will bring together craftspeople, designers, and stakeholders to explore critical contemporary questions, including:
- Can human creativity co-exist with Artificial Intelligence?
- How can cultural heritage be authentically and meaningfully woven into modern fashion?
The discussions will feature insights from a range of speakers, including notable textile artist Kristina Austi, fostering a vital dialogue within the local craft ecosystem.
designMT is organised by the Malta Crafts Foundation. The European Crafts Alliance is supporting this important, member-led initiative through our Financial Support for Members programme, as part of CraftsNet project, co-funded by the European Union.
