The Tracks4Crafts Video Contest has announced its 2025 winner: Twan Boumans, founder of the Netherlands-based woodcraft company Van Harthout. The European Crafts Alliance (ECA) was alongside Bokrijk and Skillman part of the evaluation jury.
Boumans‘ video was selected for its narrative. In the video he details his career change from engineering to founding a sustainable woodworking business. The jury noted that his story strongly reflects the Tracks4Crafts mission of showcasing craft as a dynamic, purpose-driven career.
This year’s submissions highlighted the diversity of the contemporary crafts. The jury also awarded special mentions to ten creators for their exciting entries: Julia Woch and Ilze Mailite (weaving); Inge de Zutter (lace); Clare Bowe and Katarzyna Jurczynska (glasswork); Geertje Podevyn (ceramics); Peter Muls (traditional forging); Enez Demirci & Aysen Avci Cavdar (Turkish Ebru); and David Feroce.
Twan Boumans will receive a monetary prize; he will be invited to participate in various events across Europe to network and present his work.
