The ECA member Norwegian Crafts is inviting submissions for the upcoming 12th edition of their online magazine, The Vessel. Edited by Sofie Boons and Anneleen Swillen, this new issue explores the fascinating concept of the studio in motion.
The editors are specifically seeking craft practices that exist in shifting contexts, where making adapts to movement, embraces constraints, or unfolds across changing locations. Craftspeople are invited to submit a triptych (a set of three images) alongside a short contextual text that captures how their studio operates beyond a fixed site, revealing the tools, processes, and unique conditions that shape their work on the move.
Between five and ten selected submissions will be featured in the Autumn 2026 publication, with chosen makers receiving an honorarium of 2000 NOK (ca. 175€). The deadline to apply is 1 September 2026.
