The Malta Crafts Foundation has opened the Premju Ġieħ l Artiġjanat Malti exhibition at Spazju Kreattiv in Valletta. Running until 28 June with free admission, the showcase brings together a diverse collection of contemporary and traditional pieces created by local craftspeople. It provides a dedicated space for the public to view these handmade works and recognise the dedication behind local manufacturing.
The collection features seven award categories that reflect the breadth of Maltese craftsmanship. The exhibition showcases textiles, food and beverages, glass works and ceramics, precious materials, modelling, painting and sculpting, non precious materials, and artisanal products manufactured by local feast organisers. From interactive silver filigree and stained glass to traditional wooden ornaments, the works highlight how ancestral techniques continue to find their place in modern design.
Alongside the main awards, the exhibition includes a People’s Choice Award decided by public vote. Visitors at the venue can scan the provided QR codes, while online audiences can vote through the Malta Crafts Foundation website in each of the seven categories. The People’s Choise Award winners will be announced during an awards ceremony on 26 June. Voting closes on 26 June!
