Theme: Movement & Gesture – The Aesthetic & Performance of Craft Processes

Deadline for applications: 30 August 2026

Tracks4Crafts, a Horizon Europe project in which the European Crafts Alliance is a partner, has launched its annual Video Contest to showcase the beauty of craft processes through the lens of individual makers.

Craftsmanship can be beautiful. The flow of the hands, the behaviour of the material, the sound of the tools, and the process of precision to realise a vision in making. The clouds of stone dust or the waves of wood curls. The spiralling of thread or the spinning of staves. In its own way, the crafting process is a performance with its own aesthetic.

Join the third Tracks4Crafts Video Contest and show the beauty of your craft! The winner will have their video showcased at the final exhibition in Antwerp, receive an optional one on one business model consultation with the University of Antwerp, and become an official ambassador with travel and accommodation covered up to 1,000€ for three international events.

We invite thoughtful, visually engaging, original, and authentic video submissions (2 to 5 minutes in length in mp4 format) that showcase crafts and your vision of their performance.

Your video may highlight:

  • The movements, gestures, and techniques of your craft
  • The sounds, textures, and materiality
  • The human or machine involved
  • Any spoken reflections or explanations of your techniques (in English)

We are looking for real stories, personal insights, and exciting visual storytelling that bring the performance of your crafts to life. Craft is a world shaped by hands, so show us the story of your making through gestures!
