TextilFest, Festival of Contemporary Textile Creation

The Asociación para la Creación Textil (ACT) invites artists worldwide to participate in Transformations, an international exhibition exploring the potential of textiles to address contemporary societal issues. The exhibition, part of the first edition of TextilFest, the Festival of Contemporary Textile Creation, will be held at the Cal Boyer Leather Museum in Igualada, Spain, from 18 September to 26 October 2025. Applications are open to all artistic expressions related to textiles and will be reviewed by an international jury.
The ACT (Asociación para la Creación Textil) invites national and international creatives to submit projects which explore the concepts of TRANSFORMATIONS. The exhibition is part of the program of the first edition of TextilFest, the Festival of Contemporary Textile Creation, and will take place between the 19 September and 26 October in Igualada (Barcelona). The works selected will be exhibited in the Museu de la Pell Call Boyer. In this open call textile is understood to lie within a wide and all-embracing framework and so opens the door to all kinds of materials, techniques and media, including audiovisual formats, performances, etc. In order to facilitate the job of the international jury, the call expressly excludes works of a functional nature and focuses on works with artistic intent.
The term Transformations is synonymous of change, evolution, metamorphosis, transmutation, variation, transition, modification. Transformations occur in different areas; not only in society, politics, nature or the environment, but also in physics, biology, mathematics or music.
