Fashion Revolution Germany and Global Innovation Gathering (GIG) will host the next make-a-thek Community Call. The online session builds on the connections made during the first make-a-thek Bus Tour. It brings inspiring practices encountered in Prague back to the wider network, looking closely at how material knowledge and textile work can encourage new forms of making in community spaces.
The Speakers
Two practitioners from Prague will join the session to share their work at the intersection of materials, design, and local exchange.

Valérie Záhonová (matériO’ Prague): Valérie will introduce the matériO’ Prague material library. She will outline how the space functions and how providing direct access to physical material knowledge supports creative experimentation.

Zuzana Šmrkovská (Nit Lab): Zuzana will discuss her personal textile practice and her experiences from the recent bus tour visit. She will also share her plans for the future Nit Lab, a project focused on creating new opportunities for textile making and collaborative learning.
Their work will serve as a starting point for a broader conversation about using craft and materials to build connected environments. The session includes dedicated time for questions and open discussion with the community.

make-a-thek is an EU-funded project that brings modular, easy-to-replicate makerspaces into public libraries. These spaces focus on fashion and crafts, offering open access to innovative and circular approaches to making and design. The project connects nine partners across Europe, including the European Crafts Alliance.
