The LOEWE Foundation has opened submissions for the tenth edition of its annual LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize. The prize celebrates outstanding work in contemporary craft, highlighting originality, technical skill, and a strong artistic vision.
The winning entry will receive a prize of 50,000€. An accompanying physical exhibition featuring thirty shortlisted works will take place in Europe during the spring of 2027.
The call is open to professional artisans worldwide over the age of 18, applying either as individuals or collectives. Submitted objects must fall within the applied arts, covering disciplines from bookbinding and ceramics to leatherwork and metal. The foundation requires each piece to be original, at least partially handmade, and created within the past five years. Entries must be unique and cannot have received previous awards.
An expert panel will review all submissions to select thirty finalists. A separate jury comprising fifteen practitioners from architecture, design, and museum curation will then determine the final winner.
The deadline for applications is 15 October.
The annual LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize was launched by the LOEWE Foundation, a member of the ECA, in 2016 to celebrate excellence, artistic merit, and innovation in modern craftsmanship.
