The LOEWE FOUNDATION has announced the 30 finalists for the ninth edition of the Craft Prize. Following deliberations by the expert panel in Madrid, the selected works will be presented in a dedicated exhibition in Singapore in Spring 2026.

The 2026 shortlist represents a broad geographical spread, with a notable concentration of makers from the Republic of Korea and Japan, alongside finalists from Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Australia. The selected works span a variety of disciplines, including ceramics, textiles, wood, metal, glass, and bookbinding.

A recurring technical approach among this year’s finalists is the integration of traditional heritage craft with industrial processes and repurposed materials. Examples from the shortlist include Ghanaian basketry woven over AutoCAD-printed architectural plans, and composite vessels formed from cement and shredded cotton. These works provide a clear overview of how traditional methods and physical materials are currently being adapted in contemporary practice.
