7–12 April 2026 | All over Europe
The European Craft Days return in spring 2026 to celebrate crafts across Europe. Coordinated by L’Institut pour les Savoir-Faire Français, the next edition places Belgium in the spotlight as Country of Honour.
While the centre of European decision-making, Belgium is also home to a rich and varied craft landscape. From historic traditions of linen, lace and glassmaking to contemporary practices in design, fashion and material innovation, crafts are embedded in everyday life. Knowledge is passed on through workshops, training centres and studios where heritage and experimentation meet.
Throughout the week of the European Craft Days, workshops, exhibitions, special rendez-vous and more events across Belgium will open their doors to the public, offering encounters with craft as it is practised today. Rooted in skill. Shaped by place. Oriented towards the future.
The ECA Support
Following the successful conclusion of the EU-co-funded Crafting project in 2025, the funding has shifted. There will be no open call for financial grants from the ECA this year. Instead, the European Crafts Alliance is supporting the European Craft Days in Belgium through financial support and shared communication. This contribution is intended to support national coordination and to help highlight Belgian craft practices within the European programme. As an organisation based in Belgium, we are delighted to see the spotlight on the creative landscape we share with our members, BeCraft and Mad´in Europe.
Join the European Craft Days
Belgian workshops, makers, training centres and cultural institutions are invited to take part in the European Craft Days 2026 and to register their activities on the official European map. Crafts people, crafts organisations and more from across Europe are also encouraged to join the programme!
Taking place simultaneously across the continent, the 2026 edition centres on With Heart and Soul (Cœurs à l’ouvrage), a theme that brings attention to the shared effort behind craft, where passion and discipline meet and skills continue to circulate from hand to hand. The official digital map launches in February as the primary guide for visitors. Whether you are based in a big city or a small village, you are invited to register your event now to ensure your location is visible. Register your event>>
