The European Commission has opened a public consultation on Packaging and packaging waste: rules on national registers of producers. Feedback is open until 10 September 2026.
The consultation concerns the way national registers for packaging producers operate across the EU. For small craft businesses selling across borders, registration and reporting requirements can add time and costs to occasional international sales.
If you have encountered difficulties with registration, reporting, understanding national requirements or the costs involved, you can submit your experience directly to the European Commission.
The consultation is separate from the ECA PPWR Impact Survey, which is collecting experiences from craftspeople and craft organisations to inform ECA’s policy work and position on the implementation of the PPWR.
The two provide different ways to contribute. You can share your experience with ECA through the survey and submit your own feedback directly to the European Commission through its consultation.
