We are very pleased to welcome the Consortium of Craft Centres of Slovenia to the European Crafts Alliance. This marks the first time ever the network includes a member from Slovenia!
The Consortium of Craft Centres of Slovenia brings together 10 craft centres across the country. Its mission is to connect, coordinate, and represent craft centres, ensuring the preservation, development, and visibility of handicrafts while improving working conditions and quality for craft centres and craftspeople in Slovenia.
Active since 2014, the Consortium is a key actor in the support environment for safeguarding and developing handicrafts. It links national, regional, and local stakeholders, works to improve the status of craftspeople, strengthens cooperation between craft centres and artisans, informs the public, and promotes Slovenian handicrafts at home and abroad.
The Consortium also played an important role in preparing and implementing the Slovenian Act on the Preservation and Development of Handicrafts and leads major initiatives such as the Slovenian Handicraft Festival, the Slovenian Handicraft Camp, and various projects with associated craft centres.
