Founded in 2016 to champion artistic crafts as a vital living heritage, ECA member De Mains De Maîtres Luxembourg marks its tenth anniversary with an ambitious four-part European exhibition series. Curated by Jean-Marc Dimanche, the anniversary cycle takes Luxembourgish craft on a cross-border tour from Venice to Paris and Crans-Montana, culminating back at home in Luxembourg.
The season opens this September in Venice with Fiat Lux, hosted at Casa Sanlorenzo at the Homo Faber Biennial 2026. Centred on the physical interplay between light and raw material, the inaugural exhibition sets the tone for an international dialogue on contemporary making. In February 2027, the tour moves to the Fondation Opale in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, examining the relationship between fine craftsmanship and regional landscape.
From April to November 2027, the historic salons of the Château de La Roche-Guyon, near Paris, will host an installation placing contemporary studio works in direct conversation with heritage architecture. The cycle reaches its grand finale in November 2027 with the sixth edition of the Biennale De Mains De Maîtres in Luxembourg. Organised alongside Luxembourg Art Week, the biennale will feature Italy as the guest country of honour, aiming to establish Luxembourg as a central European destination for the craft sector.
