The Biennale for Craft & Design 2025 opened on 9 October at the Glas – Museum of Glass Art in Ebeltoft, Denmark. The exhibition, which features 26 selected works, is organised by the Danish Crafts & Design Association and runs until 22 February 2026.
At the opening, the Biennale Award 2025 was presented to silversmith Lone Løvschal for her work FLUCTUATING SPOONS. The piece is a series of 30 unique spoons, each created on a different day to reflect the daily context of its creation, from the weather to hormonal fluctuations. The jury highlighted this connection, stating that the work “demonstrates that craft making is not just serial production but is affected by the specific context that surrounds and shapes it.”
The European Crafts Alliance (ECA) network is well-represented at the event. Timmi B. Kromann, representing ECA member Arts & Craft Association Bornholm, is among the 26 selected exhibitors. Furthermore, Lotte Westphael and Emilie Palle Holm, both recipients of the Maestria 2024 award and featured in the ECA Capsule Exhibition at Contemporania 2025, were nominees for the main Biennale Award.
