The European Commission has published the 2027 Annual Work Programme for Creative Europe, with 402 million € allocated for the final year of the current programme. For cultural organisations, European Cooperation Projects remain among the main opportunities. The call is expected in the first quarter of 2027, with more than 61 million € available for small, medium and large-scale projects. The call for the circulation of European literary works will arrive earlier, in autumn 2026.
New additions
There are some new additions to the Culture strand. A dedicated action will support cooperation with EU enlargement and neighbourhood countries, while a new Music Moves Europe call will focus on technological innovation, including digital tools and artificial intelligence. The programme also introduces a new European performing arts prize. Culture Moves Europe, the EU’s mobility scheme for artists and cultural professionals, will continue.
AgoraEU 2028-2034
2027 will close the current Creative Europe programme, which has run since 2021. Attention is already turning to what follows. The Commission has proposed AgoraEU for 2028–2034, bringing support for culture, media, civil society and democratic values under a new framework. Its final structure and budget remain part of the negotiations for the EU’s next long-term budget.
