The European Crafts Alliance member Crafts Council Nederland will present the exhibition HOW&WOW as part of Dutch Design Week 2025, taking place from 18-26 October in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
The exhibition will feature an extensive group of makers working across a wide range of disciplines, from bronze casting and knitting to woodturning and glassblowing. This showcase moves beyond just technique to explore how makers are in continuous dialogue with their materials, safeguarding centuries-old knowledge while engaging with contemporary questions about sustainability.
Complementing the exhibition, a diverse public program will run throughout the week, including talks, a book presentation, and a community ceramics market.
In addition, the sustainable ceramics project (w)aardewerk is gaining international attention, with work from its participating makers also featured in the HOW&WOW exhibition. The (w)aardewerk project was also recently exhibited at the Hangzhou Cultural and Creative Industry Expo in China in October.
Both the HOW&WOW exhibition and the (w)aardewerk project received support from the European Crafts Alliance’s Financial Support for Members program, which is part of the Crafting project co-funded by the European Union.
