Consortium of Commerce, Crafts and Fashion of Catalonia, a member of the ECA, presents two concurrent exhibitions at the Catalan Crafts Centre. Running from 12 June to 13 September 2026, the showcases examine material memory and domestic history through distinct approaches to contemporary craft.

Curators Martha Gómez and Gema Pinedo have assembled Pantry and its psychopompous elements, an exhibition gathering practitioners from contemporary jewellery, ceramics and textiles. The works use everyday materials such as crumbs, food skins and plant fibres to construct objects linked to the domestic sphere and female care practices. The space centres around a large rectangular table covered with a white tablecloth, holding a pyramidal structure of individual pieces. A secondary space functions as a laboratory, displaying the creative processes and raw ingredients behind each work.

Running in parallel, Sine die presents the work of Italian artist Luca Freschi. Working primarily with terracotta and glazed ceramics, Freschi creates sculptures and large paving assemblies by casting everyday items in moulds. The pieces incorporate anatomical fragments, architectural remains and familiar tools. The layout avoids a chronological narrative, allowing visitors to navigate the space freely and observe the physical characteristics of the ceramics.

The dual programme forms part of CCAM’s ongoing examination into the intersection of traditional material processes and contemporary art.
