The BRICKS project is hosting a conference focused on non-formal education and the transmission of craft skills. The event brings together stakeholders from the crafts, training, heritage, and public policy sectors across several European countries. Three of the BRICKS project partners are members of the ECA: Mad’in Europe, the Georgian Arts and Culture Centre, and Artex.
The conference will present the main findings, observations, and recommendations resulting from two years of research conducted across Belgium, Italy, Georgia, and Poland. In addition to sharing these results, the conference will provide a forum for discussion among craftspeople, trainers, companies, and public actors regarding the practical challenges of transmitting craft knowledge today. Discussions will centre on how to strengthen learning pathways within the craft sector. Participants will explore strategies to attract and support learners, methods to assist artisan-trainers, and approaches to better recognize skills acquired outside of traditional training programmes. The core objective is to identify concrete solutions to better prepare the craft professionals of tomorrow.
Participation in the conference is free of charge. As the number of available places is limited, advance registration is mandatory.
