To celebrate its 20th anniversary at the Site des Anciens Abattoirs (Former Slaughterhouses) in Mons, Belgium, our member BeCraft is taking over the site’s Grande Halle with a major European group exhibition.
Running from 8 March to 24 May 2026, the exhibition brings together approximately 60 creators from 12 European countries to explore a theme rarely addressed in the applied arts: the abattoir itself. Through denunciation, memory, poetry, and critical analysis, the selected works invite visitors to take a sensitive and informed look at these places of passage, production, transformation, and heritage. The exhibition opens a space for reflection on what slaughterhouses say about our societies: our relationship with living things, production processes, and the traces we leave behind. The dialogue between the contemporary crafts, archival documents, and life stories provides a complete immersion into the site’s history.
Furthermore, in the site’s Stables, lies the soul of BeCraf: the Showcase of Creators exhibition. It features the works of BeCraft’s member artists. The curation highlights creations that dialogue directly with the historic architecture, questioning materiality and revealing the intelligence of the gesture.

Parallel Event:
MURS – MURS Running concurrently in the adjacent Maison des Collections is Murs – Murs (Wall-Whispers), a collaborative in-situ installation. The project is the result of a collaboration between sculpture students from ARTS² and BeCraft glass artist Myriam Louyest, transforming the space into a reflection of the city’s textures and traces using cast, spun, and torch-welded glass.
