The Danish Crafts & Design Association presents Formkraft – archive and contemporary online journal.
Thanks to financial support from private and public foundations, Danish Crafts & Design Association has digitized journals from 1948 – 2009 including Biennale catalogs from 1995 – now. It has long been a wish to digitize the journals in order to democratize all the knowledge they contain and give the largest possible audience the opportunity to dive into history – online. Danish Crafts & Design Association is not just showing history, they want to use the huge knowledge of the past to understand our present.
The archive, coexists with a contemporary online magazine at Formkraft.
This autumn, Formkraft will focus on the atmosphere that material culture, technology and aesthetics can add to the public space. And why it is more relevant than ever to include craft makers and designers when state-owned buildings are renovated, when municipalities develop decorative projects and when private actors seek to imbue the modern city with soul and sensuous qualities. Articles, interviews and reviews are published regularly in October – November – December. Also remember to search for the topic in the archive.
