Deadline for applications: 23 October 2026
Across Europe, shared cultural heritage faces continuous pressure, from natural hazards and climate impacts to neglect, development threats, and chronic underfunding. To help protect these spaces, Europa Nostra has launched its call for nominations for the 2027 edition of the 7 Most Endangered Programme. Run in partnership with the European Investment Bank Institute and Creative Europe, the initiative highlights seven at-risk sites each year, bringing together heritage experts, financial advisers, public authorities, and local communities to map out realistic, long-term rescue plans.
Why nominate a site?
-
European visibility: Draws international attention to the site’s cultural value and the urgent challenges it faces.
-
Specialist expertise: Delivers independent assessments on conservation, operational management, and project funding.
-
Targeted support: Helps rally the technical, political, and financial backing needed to secure a sustainable future.
Who can apply?
Nominations can be submitted by public or private organisations active in the heritage field (or individual members of those organisations) based in any Council of Europe member state.
